47th & York Pedestrian Bridge

Denver, Colorado

Providing inspiration through access.

  • A 3D printed model of the site design was developed to support public engagement.

  • Visibility to the bridge access was important for community members.

  • Design concepts for the plaza underneath the bridge incorporate a community plaza and a small skate park.

This bridge has been a dream of the community for many years. Until now, students at Swansea Elementary have been late to school or many unsafe at grade crossings at the railroad tracks. Dig Studio provided urban design services for the parcels of land directly under and adjacent to the bridge landing points on either side of the railroad ROW. The project reconnects the Elyria – Swansea neighborhood and was completed in early 2020.
