Centennial Plaza

Peoria, Arizona

Celebrating 100 years of history.

Centennial Plaza was designed as part of the City of Peoria’s celebration of the State Centennial through a two-stage design competition for the remaining parcel within the City Hall complex. The plaza features a Decades Walk that celebrates national, state and city milestones, event plaza, lawn, and a covered amphitheater. International, national, state and city of Peoria historical events and milestones are displayed on tiles which are embedded in the walkway that encircles the plaza.

  • This plaza park was built to celebrate Arizona’s Centennial year.

  • Each brick contains a timeline history of Arizona’s 100 years as a state and recognizes major US and world events.

  • Decades are represented by the arches along the “Decades Walk” which highlights Arizona’s history.
