Conservatory Green

Denver, Colorado

A town plaza accommodates multiple programmed activities.

  • Trees planted in wind rows create shade and protect visitors from the elements.

  • Raised planters double as places to rest and add colorful accents to the functional plaza areas.

  • All elements of the landscape were inspired by the feeling of the wind and water meeting on the prairie.

A performance green and town plaza provide a central hub for the Conservatory Green Neighborhood. Spaces were carefully designed to accommodate multiple programmed activities. Farmers market tents can be assembled around the plaza edge while the perimeter walkway accommodates pedestrian flow. Art dealers can line shaded corridors in the plaza interior. A large amphitheater and performance stage anchors the north while the southern plaza is organized around a fountain, fire pit, and shade structure.
