City Park Golf Course

Denver, Colorado

Preservation and restoration at a historic golf course.

  • The irrigation layout was designed to minimize root disturbance to existing trees.

  • An on-going tree monitoring plan and program were set up throughout the construction process.

  • Dig Studio also provided detailed Design around the new clubhouse building accommodates exterior dining and large events, dropoff, cart staging, and practice facilities.

Dig Studio provided landscape architecture services that included tree inspection and replacement recommendations for City Park Golf Course after several of the large historic trees collapsed or dropped large branches on the course.

Extensive on-site evaluation of existing trees with City Forestry and our team’s arborist was conducted to confirm health status and determine which trees required removal or significant pruning. We provided advice on the viability of transplanting trees identified for removal, and established critical root zone boundaries and locations for tree protective fencing and contractor evaluation. Hardy and diverse tree species were selected for the new installation.
