The playground was designed to accommodate both school users and the community as a whole.
The design team has worked with DPS and the community to understand their concerns and reflect them in the design.
Swansea Elementary playground is being updated to combine age appropriate play, open fields, community gardens, bus transfer areas, outdoor classrooms, and open plazas during an interim basis while an adjacent major infrastructure program is underway. The improvements of both the building and the school grounds are greatly needed in this community that has few recreational assets.
